Head Teacher

Description of Duties:

1.            Instruction

a.    Define and refine the aims and objectives of educational programs

b.    Provide instructional leadership

c.    Assist faculty in continuously developing curriculum

d.    Develop in-service programs for the spiritual and academic growth of the faculty

e.    Maintain proper school accreditation

f.     Facilitate faculty meetings

2.            Planning and Development

a.    Stay abreast of major educational trends

b.    Works as a team with the Office Manager and School Board to implement the school’s strategic plan

c.    Develop and maintain standardized testing

3.            Supervision

a.    Provides salary recommendations for teaching staff to the Board

b.    Maintains state reporting

c.    Motivate and manage Faculty

d.    Monitor instructional process

e.    Regulate and enforce discipline of students and teachers, both behavioral and mental

f.     Works with the Office Manager to ensure accuracy and adequacy of student records

4.            Personnel Administration

a.    Promote professional growth of faculty

b.    Conduct periodic performance evaluations

c.    Handle all personnel grievances among the teachers

d.    Recommend teacher hiring and dismissals to the Board

e.    Act as communication conduit between the board and the teaching staff.

5.            Teaching – the head teacher has the major responsibility of instruction of biblical principles through the curriculum of their class as assigned by the school board.  In the implementation of this responsibility, he/she is expected to:

a.    Teach regularly scheduled classes as assigned by the school board.

b.    Develop each of his/her students spiritually, academically and socially.

c.    Strive toward the development of Godly character through the application of Biblical principles in the life of the student, within the framework of the school’s discipline program.

d.    Employ those instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching.

e.    Employ insights which God’s Spirit has revealed to him/her from personal daily study of God’s Word and Prayer.

Salary  starts from $30,000-$35,000 year.
