Director of Dual Enrollment

Under the direction of the Dean of the Library, this position is responsible for the full life cycle of dual enrollment processes. This position will help develop new dual enrollment courses through recruitment of instructors via communication with secondary school teachers and administrators primarily within the UNK Service Area. Through coordination with department chairs, the coordinator will certify instructors’ educational background and ability to teach college-level courses. Each semester, the director will visit each dual enrollment site for student enrollment and offer opportunities for parents to learn more about dual enrollment for their children. The director will monitor related rules and regulations within the state and accreditation programs to maintain compliance. The director oversees developing a summer workshop for DE instructors and their department chairs. The Director of Dual Enrollment will also provide services to the the Director of General Education, assisting in the maintenance of cross-registration course equivalencies.

Manage the growth and maintenance of dual enrollment courses implemented through the university through:

  • Maintaining consistent communication with school districts, instructors, and department chairs
  • Facilitating the creation of dual enrollment courses
  • Managing the enrollment of secondary students in dual enrollment courses
Maintain knowledge of current best practices and policies within the university’s accrediting bodies and state and national rules

Implement a summer professional development workshop for all instructors

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an education-related field of study or a bachelor’s degree in any field with at least 2 years of experience working for an educational institution.
  • Knowledge of and skill with common office applications, including Teams and SharePoint.
  • A valid and current driver’s license.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in developing nontraditional pathways to higher education attainment.
  • Experience working in a secondary school within the state of Nebraska.
  • Existing knowledge of Dual Enrollment programs within the state of Nebraska.

Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm, 40 hours, some off-site driving and visits to area high schools and education sites required.
Starting Annual Salary: $50,000
