Our School
Brownell Talbot, founded in 1863, is a Nebraska state-accredited preschool through grade 12 school. Director of Activities
Position Description

Stays informed on rules, procedures, and judging standards through the NSAA and NSDA.

Sets practice/behavior standards required for students to enter tournaments.

Meets with students on a regular basis during the speech season (October – March).

Sets the speech season tournament schedule in conjunction with the Director of Activities.

Coordinates student/judge entry and supervises teams at weekend and evening tournaments.

Facilitates acquisition of literary material and research information for speeches.
Desired Skills & Qualifications

Valid Nebraska state teacher and/or NDE coaching certification. Training is available if candidates do not possess this certification.

Candidates must be current with certification in the following areas — Concussion in Sports, Heat Illness Prevention, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Previous experience in speech as a participant and/or coach.

Possess knowledge of speech/debate and a passion for working with students.
