Special Education Teacher (Grades 9-12)

Beatrice Public Schools is hiring a Special Education Teacher at Beatrice High School for the 2026–2027 school year. This position serves students in grades 9–12 within an inclusive and team-oriented learning environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates a solutions-focused and equity-driven mindset, takes ownership of professional responsibilities, and consistently meets deadlines. Success in this role requires collaboration with general education teachers, paraeducators, administrators, and families.

Coaching opportunities are available, but not required. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned to student needs and state standards
  • Provide specially designed instruction in push-in and small group learning settings
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with state and federal requirements
  • Meet deadlines and maintain strong progress monitoring systems
  • Collaborate effectively with student teams to support inclusion and student outcomes
  • Support students’ academic, behavioral, and post-secondary transition planning needs

Qualifications

  • Valid Nebraska Special Education Teaching Certificate, or ability to obtain prior to the start date
  • Knowledge of high-school transition planning and inclusive instructional practices preferred
