This famous landmark rises in front of the string of hills stretching across the valley known as the Wildcat Hills. This landmark is the symbol of our state and is featured on the Nebraska quarter.

Our school recently completed a strategic planning process that serves as a road map to ongoing success. The four core areas of focus in our district include academics, leadership, engagement, and community. Positioned only a mile north of the North Platte River, the area is world-renowned for its hunting and fishing. The region has hundreds of acres of public land for hiking, hunting, and camping, Area lakes and streams provide opportunities a variety of water sports and fishing. Our community also features a 9-hole golf course that beautifully maintained and includes a clubhouse for dining.
The City of Bayard is host to multiple events throughout the year that draws people into the town. Home for the Holidays, Pioneer Days, The Sip and Sample, Golf Tournaments, and The Heirloom Market to name a few. Our community is on the rise. Our downtown features a local gym, great coffee shop, community library, grocery store, and the local Depot Museum.
Bayard Public School takes pride in our facilities. With multiple gyms and one of the nicest in the state, we also have an excellent track, beautiful auditorium, and FFA Greenhouse. We offer a variety of programs for every age including after-school programs, FFA, sports, Destination Imagination, Quiz bowl teams, and leadership programs.

Education Level and Certification
Masters degree or higher required, in addition to all other required or assigned certification and training. Nebraska Administrative and Supervisory Certificate. First Aid and CPR training required (may be obtained on the job and must be kept current). Must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license with a certificate to operate a school van (may be obtained on the job and must be kept current). Coaching experience preferred.
