Middle School/High School Special Education (Life Skills) Teacher
The Aurora Public School District is accepting applications for a Middle School/High School Special Education Life Skills Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain, Nebraska Department of Education Teacher Certification with proper endorsements in Special Education. The Life Skills Special Education Teacher is responsible for the delivery and management of the Special Education Life Skills program and services to students with special needs. Specific areas of responsibility include:
- Manage caseloads
- Preparing, scheduling, and conducting IEPs and MDTs
- Provide services as directed in the IEP
- Supervise paraprofessionals
- Communicate with District staff and outside agencies
- Comply with NDE Rule 51 guidelines
- Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, and staff
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of special education services
- Maintain student records
- Provide related services to students
- Collaborate with related services providers
