High School Guidance Counselor
The Aurora Public School District is currently accepting applications for a High School Guidance Counselor for the 2021-22 school year. Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain Nebraska Department of Education Teacher Certification with proper endorsement in School Counseling 7-12. The High School Guidance Counselor is responsible for the overall development, coordination, implementation and delivery of Guidance/Counseling services to all students in the high school. Specific areas of responsibility include:
- College and career planning
- Post secondary testing
- Academic, social, and emotional services and programing
- Referrals to appropriate outside resources
- Consulting with parents, teachers, and staff
- Scholarship program
- Maintain student records
- Class sponsorship
- Graduation requirements and ceremonies
Screening of applicants will begin immediately and position will remain open until filled. Position will begin August 1, 2021, with orientation during June and July, 2021.
