High School Guidance Counselor

The Aurora Public School District is currently accepting applications for a High School Guidance Counselor for the 2021-22 school year.  Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain Nebraska Department of Education Teacher Certification with proper endorsement in School Counseling 7-12.  The High School Guidance Counselor is responsible for the overall development, coordination, implementation and delivery of Guidance/Counseling services to all students in the high school.  Specific areas of responsibility include:

• College and career planning
• Post secondary testing
• Academic, social, and emotional services and programing
• Referrals to appropriate outside resources
• Consulting with parents, teachers, and staff
• Scholarship program
• Maintain student records
• Class sponsorship
• Graduation requirements and ceremonies
