K-12 School Counselor
Arapahoe-Holbrook Public School is accepting applications for a K-12 School Counselor to join our high performing district. Arapahoe is a progressive, rural community of over 1,000 residents, located 38 miles south of Lexington, NE, 40 miles east of McCook, NE, and 32 miles west of Holdrege, NE. AHPS is a one-to-one district with over 340 students utilizing iPads and laptops in a new building that was completed three years ago.
Candidates should possess the ability to implement and manage school counseling programs, work with students in individual and group settings, facilitate the exploration of future career/vocation options, assist students with the development of social-emotional skills, collaborate with staff and parents, and monitor/record student progress. The school counselor will also serve as a member of the School Improvement Process Steering Committee and will be required to work closely with the coordinator of the district MTSS program.
The successful candidate must possess a Nebraska Teaching Certificate and have, or be able to obtain, a school counselor endorsement as required by NDE.
Previous experience in a school counseling position is preferred, but not required.
